Der letzten Pressemitteilung der Stiftung Garnisonkirche Potsdam war zu entnehmen, dass Bischof i.R. Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Huber sich aus Altersgründen aus dem Kuratorium der Stiftung zurückzieht. Dazu der Vorsitzende der AfD-Stadtfraktion, Chaled-Uwe Said:
„Wir wünschen dem ehemaligen Bischof und Ratsvorsitzenden der Evangelischen Kirche Deutschland, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Huber, viel Glück auf seinem neuen Lebensabschnitt und schauen mit Hoffnung in die Zukunft auf einen neuen ‚Ruf aus Potsdam‘, der neben dem Evangelium nach reformierter, lutherischer oder unierter Konfession, einer der zentralen Botschaften der ehemaligen Hof- und Garnisonkirche gerecht wird – Soldaten sind Menschen.“
